Legora Deepens Commitment in India with Bengaluru Office and Manupatra Partnership

Updated: Jan 22

Legal AI platform Legora continues to deepen its engagement with the Indian legal ecosystem with two significant developments: the launch of its India office in Bengaluru and a newly announced exclusive integration with Manupatra, one of India’s most widely used legal research platforms.

The Bengaluru office is being led by Amit Kothiyal, MD & Head of India, marking Legora’s move from market entry to on-ground execution in India.

The partnership integrates Manupatra’s Indian legal research content directly into Legora’s AI-driven workspace, allowing lawyers to access case law, statutes, regulatory material, and citations within their day-to-day drafting and research workflows. With Manupatra’s extensive and widely trusted repository now embedded in an AI-native environment, the collaboration reflects the shift toward contextual, workflow-first legal research over standalone databases.

India as a Co-Creation Market

Speaking to the Indian LegalTech Network (ILTN), Amit Kothiyal highlighted India’s strategic role in Legora’s global growth:

“India is a very important market for us to continue to drive growth across the globe. Opening our India office allows us to work more closely with our customers in their AI adoption journey as well as to co-create alongside some of the most sophisticated legal teams in the world. It allows to work closely with legal content providers like Manupatra, with whom we recently announced an exclusive partnership, to integrate it into our platform. We are actively hiring legal talent demonstrating our long term commitment to the market.”

His remarks position India not merely as an expansion market for Legora, but as a core geography for product development, partnerships, and long-term innovation in legal AI.

Why This Matters

As Indian legal teams increasingly move from AI experimentation to real-world deployment, integrations between trusted legal content providers and AI platforms are becoming critical. Beyond product capability, this partnership is also about distribution in a new market—Manupatra, already embedded in the daily workflows of lawyers and law firms across the country, becomes a powerful channel for legal AI adoption, while AI-native platforms gain structured access to high-quality legal data at scale.

Together, Legora’s India expansion and its Manupatra collaboration signal a broader shift towards enterprise-grade, India-specific legal AI solutions built through deep ecosystem partnerships rather than standalone tools.
