Waymaker Wednesday: Women in LegalTech – Meet Puja Vaishnavi

Puja Vaishnavi is a legal professional with a strong focus on contracts, compliance, and legal operations. She currently works as an Associate (Contracts & Compliance) at Vyapi, where she manages the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, redlining, negotiating, and overseeing commercial agreements such as MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and amendments.

Her work combines traditional legal expertise with modern legal technology, leveraging CLM platforms and AI-enabled tools to streamline contract management, mitigate risk, and improve operational efficiency. She regularly advises stakeholders on compliance and contractual matters while supporting legal process improvements across the organisation.

Prior to joining Vyapi, Puja gained experience in real estate law as a Legal Assistant at Nanda and Associate Lawyers Professional Corporation, where she worked on title searches, property transactions, mortgage documentation, and related legal due diligence. Her experience across contracts, compliance, and legal technology reflects a growing interest in building more efficient and technology-driven legal systems.

1. What inspired you to join the Women in LegalTech community?

I joined the Women in LegalTech community to connect with like-minded professionals who share the same grit and determination to create positive change in the evolving legal industry. It provides a great opportunity to learn from one another, collaborate, and grow together.

2. If you could solve one problem in the legal world (or beyond) with technology, what would it be?

⁠As we all know, LegalTech is an emerging field now more than ever before. I would love to use technology to make legal information easier for non-legal professionals to understand and ensure that it is accessible to the masses.

3. What’s one book, podcast, or resource that’s made a big impact on how you think about work or life?

One podcast that has significantly shaped my understanding of people is that of Gabor Maté. His insights into human behavior, healing, and personal responsibility have greatly influenced the way I view both work and life.

4. Outside of work, what’s something you’re passionate about or love spending time on?

I love exploring new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, and learning about diverse cultures.

5. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received as a woman in your career journey?

Be assertive and remain open to different perspectives and opportunities for learning.

6. If you weren’t working in Law/LegalTech, what’s another path you could totally see yourself in?

If it weren’t for the law, I would have pursued music. Art has always been one of my greatest passions, and I could easily see myself attending music school and building a career in that field.
